We are about to leave for our road trip to get our new Pug puppy. The excitement is beyond anything I’ve ever had in my entire life. Beyond Christmas morning as a kid, beyond opening my own bake shop, and even beyond becoming a published author.
I am a dog person at heart, and I am just happier when I have a dog. When we lost Otto last fall, it was the worst thing in the world. I’ve been heartbroken ever since, and I think a part of me will also be missing without my little Muffin. He was my best friend and I will think about him every day for the rest of my life because he was that special.
But, he made me fall in love with Pugs and now I am not just a dog person, but a Pug person. So, we are driving to Kansas because I found who I think is the best breeder of Apricot Pugs. And, I can’t wait to meet our new family member!
So, I thought I would share some of my favorite organic road trip snacks with you. We will be driving for days, and I will most likely be eating all of these snacks for lunch and maybe even dinner – who knows! I just know that I need to have snacks, and if I can’t find food, or don’t see anything that I would want to eat while driving – then snacks will have to do. And so I am sharing with you my favorite organic road trip snacks!

Mighty Organic Beef Sticks
These are one of my favorite snacks in general. I really need protein in order to feel full and satisfied, so these are a key snack in my diet. They have three flavors – Teriyaki, Original, and Jalapeno. They are all amazing! I buy boxes of them online so we always have them for emergencies or road trips. My favorite is the Teriyaki and what I’m bringing with me this week!
Organic Valley String Cheese
We always have the cooler with us, so bringing something like string cheese is easy to do! I love string cheese because it has protein that fills you up immediately. Organic Valley String Cheese is my favorite, so pick some up for your next road trip.
SunRidge Farms Greek Yogurt Raisins
I found these a while ago when I was making my Halloween Charcuterie Board and they are so insanely good! Delaney and I are obsessed with these, but we try to keep them specifically for road trips or when we need a portable snack, otherwise we just eat them too much! That’s how good they are. I think next time I order from SunRidge I need to buy these ones in bulk!
Theo Chocolate Coconut Bites
These are a candy that I buy often. Chocolate and coconut is my favorite combo ever, and these little candies are so good! I like the plain coconut ones but also the ones with almonds – either one. These are an amazing treat to bring with me when I travel as they are prepackaged, so I can count out how many days I’ll be gone and bring one for each day. They make for the best traveling dessert.
Rhythm Cauliflower Bites
I am legit obsessed with these. I have been buying them online for a while, but I recently found the big bag at Costco! So look for them there. All of their snacks are amazing, but these ones are just so plain and simply delicious.
Rhythm Carrot Sticks
These are always in my pantry. I love these carrot sticks because they are easy to snack on, but they also don’t have a lot of calories or fat, so it’s great for mindless munching. Because sometimes, you. just need to do that! And driving can be boring, so these are a great snack for road trips.
Rhythm Everything Bagel Broccoli Bites
You can’t go wrong with whatever Rhythm snack you choose. They are all delicious in their own way. And I love these broccoli bites just as much as the carrot and cauliflower! And veggies can sometimes be hard to come by when you’re on a road trip, so this is a great way to get in my veggies.
Dried Blueberries
Sometimes I feel like fruit can be hard to come by when traveling too. So, I will always bring a small bag of dried blueberries with me. The Food to Live Organic Dried Blueberries are my favorite ones, they are so good! But, Costco also has an organic dried blueberry bag now, and they are legit as well. If you don’t like blueberries, you can also bring dried cranberries, apricots, or mango.
Gummy Worms
I don’t eat gummy candy – simply because the organic ones are always made with tapioca and I am very allergic. But, that doesn’t mean I haven’t tried them haha. That is partially how I found out I was allergic to tapioca! But, Delaney loves gummy candy, it’s his favorite. So, we always have some kind of organic gummy worms in our house. And he likes to have them for road trips.
Giggles
Now, Giggles are a candy I can have! I love this organic take on Skittles, and honestly, I think they are even better! These are by YumEarth and they are so good! I love having something sweet and fruity when driving. I kinda feel like a road trip isn’t complete without candy, and this is my favorite for driving and snacking.
Moo Chocolates
I love Moo Chocolates because they are small little chocolate bars. So, it’s perfect when you just need a little something sweet. My favorite is the Creamy Milk and the Rice Crisp. But, they have a ton of other organic flavors as well!
Pretzel Twists
I love pretzels, they are one of my favorite snacks. They are great for the car because they are salty and they are not messy or greasy like a chip is. My favorite ones are the Ancient Grains Spelt Pretzels, they really have an amazing flavor!
Pure Organic Fruit Bars
These are one of my favorite candy-like snacks. I have found these at Costco before too, so check there. But, they are bite sized and made with real fruit but they taste like candy! And lucky for me, there is no tapioca in them!
Lesser Evil Popcorn
They make some of the best organic popcorn, in my opinion. The Himalayan Pink Salt is my favorite, but if you can find the Himalayan Sweetness one (purple branding) then that one is insane! I usually can’t find that one online as it’s usually out of stock. But, I find it at Jimbo’s all the time when we’re down south.
Obviously, I also love to bring fresh fruit like bananas, apples, grapes, or other things that are easy to snack on in the car. If you have a cooler, this makes these items a lot easier to bring and also a lot tastier!
