It is so hot in Mammoth right now, no joke. We have been having weather in the 80s and that usually is rare for us, but it’s been weeks of it! And I’m ready for it to cool down a bit as I haven’t wanted to turn my oven on at all! But, I still want cookies! What do you guys do for sweets when it’s too hot to bake? So, I have resorted to purchasing some of my favorite store bought cookies for those days when I don’t want to turn the oven on. Yes, I still buy cookies once in a while! Especially the nostalgic ones like Newman’s Own O’s (which are yes, basically just organic Oreos!). I used to buy these Newman’s Own O’s all the time when we lived down South and was able to go to Mother’s Market on the regular. It is peach season right now, and they are going off! They’ve been so good lately, I love it! Otto has also been loving it, he loves peaches. If you didn’t know, peaches are a safe fruit to give your dog! Just make sure to not give them the pit. Peaches are ripe when they are both firm and soft. When you press into them they should be slightly soft, that is when they are at their peak.
• Use the best vanilla bean ice cream, Straus! I think I made my point above. But I cannot stress enough how amazing their vanilla bean ice cream is! It is so good! When you’re making an ice cream sundae, the ice cream is the start of the recipe. So, you should splurge and get the best ice cream.
• You can use any kind of vanilla flavored cookie for this ice cream sundae and it will still be delicious. You can make your own or buy them. But, I do recommend buying organic cookies as they will taste the best!
