When it comes to organic meat, it can be difficult to find sometimes! Depending on where you live and what grocery stores you have, you might not be able to always find organic meat. This is something I struggle with living in Mammoth. And do you want to know my fix? I order meat online!
You may be timid of ordering meat online, but trust me, it’s easy, the meat arrives frozen, and you can get exactly what you want. While organic bread, milk, and cheese may be staples in pretty much all grocery stores now, meat still has strides to make so it is more accessible.
Luckily, Organic Prairie (which is part of Organic Valley) has amazing organic meat that you can easily purchase online! I love their meat because it is organic, and it tastes amazing! They have everything from steaks, to chicken, to pork. And organic pork is one of the most difficult things to find! I honestly don’t even know any other brand that makes organic pork besides Organic Prairie (and of course Organic Valley Bacon!).
While I know you can find organic grass-fed steaks at Whole Foods and Jimbo’s because I have frequently bought them there. And I also know organic chicken is easily accessible at many grocery stores and even Costco! But organic pork is a different story. And many recipes may call for ground pork or even an Italian Sausage.
Recipes such as pizza, pasta, and Thanksgiving stuffing may call for Italian Sausage. And when you can’t barely find organic ground pork, there sure is no one doing an organic Italian Sausage! Please if I am wrong, email me and let me know!
But, luckily, Organic Prairie has an amazing organic ground pork. And today I am going to share with you how to make homemade Italian Sausage. This easy organic Italian Sausage recipe can be used in pizza, pasta, or in your Thanksgiving stuffing.
My YiaYia’s stuffing recipe calls for this, and it’s a favorite recipe of Delaney’s and my dad’s. So we’ll be making this organic Italian Sausage recipe this year to add into our stuffing. And I’ll have to share that stuffing recipe next year!
So, if you want to know how to make homemade Italian Sausage, let me tell you that it’s so easy! This simple organic Italian Sausage recipe starts with Organic Prairie Ground Pork and some spices. You just mix them up with your hands, and then cook the pork in a skillet on medium heat for about 10 minutes until it’s cooked through. It couldn’t be easier!

How to Make Homemade Italian SausageDifficulty: Easy
Learn how to make homemade Italian Sausage! Use this simple organic Italian Sausage recipe in recipes like pizza, pasta, or stuffing!
1 teaspoon organic oregano
1 teaspoon organic thyme
1/2 teaspoon organic rosemary
1/2 teaspoon organic fennel seed
1/2 teaspoon organic parsley
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 teaspoon organic black pepper
1/2 teaspoon organic white pepper
1/2 teaspoon organic garlic powder
1 pound Organic Prairie Ground Pork
- In a large bowl, add the oregano, thyme, rosemary, fennel seeds, parsley, sea salt, black pepper, white pepper, and garlic powder and mix together.
- Add in the ground pork, and using your hands mix until the spices are incorporated evenly.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the pork. Using a spatula, chop up the pork into small pieces and cook over medium heat until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 10 minutes.
- Turn heat up to high and brown for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
- Use in recipes, or store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
