Why You'll Love This Recipe
This homemade Vanilla Malt Pudding is creamy, smooth, and best of all it's vanilla but – it's also malt. This gives it that flavor that makes people just say why is this so good? Why is this the best vanilla pudding I've ever had? It's because of the malt! Malt powder provides a taste and flavor like no other. It adds creaminess to a dessert and it adds nostalgia for those that grew up getting old fashioned malts (like I did!).
The other best thing about this pudding is because it is homemade Vanilla Malt Pudding – it goes with literally everything! Add in cookies – delicious. Add in chocolate chips, boom! Pair it with a brownie and you have the best of both worlds. Add fresh fruit on top – blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, peaches, they would all be in so amazing because this is homemade Vanilla Malt Pudding people.
Just some of the many reasons I love making homemade pudding, not only it is so easy, but you have an insanely good dessert that you can pair with other things like cookies, brownies, or cake. So how long does homemade vanilla pudding last? It lasts for up to a week in the fridge, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy it with other desserts!
And as we head into summer, that’s when I crave malt flavored things as chocolate malt milkshakes were something my dad and I would get in the summertime. So, malt flavored desserts are very nostalgic for me. So, I’m going to teach you how to use malt powder in pudding!
Malt powder has such a unique flavor, nothing else compares to it. And if you know, then you just know! It gives desserts a sweet and creamy flavor that nothing else can replicate!
Unfortunately, there’s no organic malt powder on the market yet (please email me if I’m wrong, as I need it!). So, I don’t use it often, but when I do, I buy the King Arthur Malted Milk Powder. Ingredients I used to make this recipe for Vanilla Malt Pudding
Why use organic ingredients in this recipe? You all know I’m a huge organic advocate, and I bet you may be thinking sometimes, Why would I even bother to use organic ingredients in something that is so sweet and indulgent? But, that is the exact reason why you should use organic ingredients! Sweet things need to have flavor in order to be good, otherwise they are just sweet and they don’t taste like much else. Organic ingredients are more pure than conventional ones, therefore they actually have more flavor than the non organic options. Say it with me, organic means more flavor! And not just more flavor but a more true and pure flavor. And organic ingredients are much healthier for you to eat in general as they do not contain GMOs or anything artificial. Plus, you are being environmentally friendly when you choose organic ingredients!
So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here.
