Hello December! I am so looking forward to this winter. I have so many plans that I have made as I will have more free time on my hands as I have taken a step back from the bake shop. It’s so exciting. And one of the things I am going to be doing is spending more leisurely mornings as I won’t be in a hurry to get over to the bake shop to start baking.
One of the things I love doing in the morning is making a warm drink. I am not a coffee drinker, surprisingly! I haven’t been for my whole life, even though I have worked at many coffee shops. So instead I’ve gravitated towards tea, hot chocolates, and steamers when it’s cold outside. And today I’m sharing a recipe I used to make all the time when I held a job at a bakery, which is ultimately what made me decide I could open my own.
We lived in Big Bear for a winter after we left our jobs at Quiksilver and I worked at a local bakery and coffee shop. They opened early, so I was up before sunrise many mornings when I worked there. And in the very early winter mornings, it is cold as fuck out. So, when I got into the shop I would get everything going and after serving the morning rush, I’d take a break and make myself this Easy Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Because this shop didn’t use organic ingredients, I brought my own with me. So, the recipe had to be really easy for me to bring it in every morning and make it there.
This Easy Peppermint Hot Chocolate recipe has just two ingredients! Yes, just two ingredients. My shortcut for making a really easy hot chocolate is just warming up chocolate milk. I would bring shelf stable Organic Valley Chocolate Milks into the shop, and then also my Organic Peppermint Flavor. This way, I could easy drop those two ingredients into my lunch bag and be able to make a warm and cozy drink for my break. All I had to do was steam up my milk and drop a little bit of peppermint flavor in and I had my own Organic Peppermint Hot Chocolate in no time!
So, this recipe for Easy Peppermint Hot Chocolate is just that simple! You only need two ingredients, but if you want to fancy it up with some Homemade Whipped Cream or chocolate shavings, you can do that as well. When the drink itself is so easy to make, then you can take those few extra minutes and whip up some Homemade Whipped Cream. Get the recipe below for my Easy Peppermint Hot Chocolate.
