I love donuts, so much. And I am going to start this post by saying that I was super reluctant to make baked donuts at home for a long time, because I just thought they wouldn’t be good. But, when my friends at USA Pan sent me some donut pans, I thought I’d give it a whirl. And, I was really wrong! So, if you’ve been just passing over baked donut recipes because you think they just won’t be that good, I’m here to tell you, they are!

And, these Double Chocolate Baked Donuts are just another recipe I have been loving making. I love chocolate, love, love, love chocolate! So, with these I made a rich chocolate donut batter and topped them with a chocolate glaze, and then added chocolate sprinkles. These healthy Double Chocolate Baked Donuts are on the healthier side of donuts because they are not fried at all, they are just baked. And if you make them with completely organic ingredients, like I do, then you’re definitely getting a healthier donut than you would if you bought them from a donut shop.
I also had a bunch of Raw Farm ingredients, as they sent me a big box. I love their stuff, so if you like raw dairy, check them out. And, I actually used their Raw Whole Keifer in these donuts, which also adds more flavor I’ve found, similar to buttermilk. So, if you’ve ever wondered if you can bake with raw dairy, you totally can! I actually do it often whenever I have raw dairy that we just haven’t finished in time.
These healthy Double Chocolate Baked Donuts are perfect for a lazy weekend morning. Homemade baked donuts don’t take as long to make as yeasted donuts, as there is no rise time. So, you can easily make them and enjoy them during a leisurely morning, which is something I love about them. So, next time you’re craving donuts, give these healthy Double Chocolate Baked Donuts a try and I’m sure they’ll become a new favorite recipe of yours!

Why Organic
Why use organic ingredients in this recipe? You all know I’m a huge organic advocate, and I bet you may be thinking sometimes, Why would I even bother to use organic ingredients in something that is so sweet and indulgent? But, that is the exact reason why you should use organic ingredients! Sweet things need to have flavor in order to be good, otherwise they are just sweet and they don’t taste like much else. Organic ingredients are more pure than conventional ones, therefore they actually have more flavor than the non organic options. Say it with me, organic means more flavor! And not just more flavor but a more true and pure flavor. And organic ingredients are much healthier for you to eat in general as they do not contain GMOs or anything artificial. Plus, you are being environmentally friendly when you choose organic ingredients!
So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here.
