You will love these easy homemade dog pancakes recipe! I absolutely love making homemade food for John John. Not only because it’s fun and he loves it so much, but I know he’s getting much better food or treats if I make them!
Ingredients really matter, and especially for your dog! They live such short lives as it is, so I want I make it the best it can be for his health long term so he can live happily for the longest time he can.
My Waffle Recipe for Dogs is one of John John’s all time faves, he loves these for treats! And he has recently taken up a blueberry obsession, we eat them together each morning after breakfast.
Blueberries are so good for your dog, just like they are for you! There are so many health benefits to eating blueberries (for humans and dogs), not to mention they are delicious in pancakes!
To make these homemade dog pancakes, I use a mix of all purpose flour, baking powder, banana, coconut oil, honey, eggs, coconut milk, and blueberries! These Blueberry Pancakes for Dogs are pancakes you can also eat too, making them the best weekend brunch that you can make and share with your dog!
These Blueberry Pancakes for Dogs have no sugar, but instead a little bit of honey, which is all they need. If you’re eating them then they’ll sweeten right up with a drizzle of maple syrup. And if you’re making them for your dog then skip the maple syrup and top them with a little bit of peanut butter for them instead!

Wait for the top of the pancake to start bubbling, about 1 to 2 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook until done, about another 1 to 2 minutes on the second side. Repeat until batter is gone.
Can I use another kind of oil?
No, stick to coconut oil for this recipe as it’s the safest for dogs to eat! Other oils like avocado oil or olive oil can be okay for dogs in very small amounts, but not in a recipe like this. So stick to organic coconut oil!

You can use a gluten free flour in place of all purpose flour. Look for the swap in the notes at the bottom of the recipe. A good gluten free flour for dogs is the Namaste Organic Perfect Flour Blend.

Homemade dog pancakes can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can also freeze them and then thaw at room temperature to give as treats later.

These Blueberry Pancakes for Dogs can be given to your dogs as treats. Just break off a piece and give it to them like you would a normal treat. Make sure to give them small pieces that they can chew, just like any other treat you give them.
You can also add these Blueberry Pancakes for Dogs on top of their food as a meal topper. Or you can mix into their food as well. I mix it into my Chicken Dinner Recipes for Dogs for John John and he loves it mixed right in!
