Today I’m sharing my recipe for Avocado Egg Salad. I recently made hard boiled eggs for a shoot, and I had bunch leftover. I was thinking about what to make with them, and I’ve been eating a lot of Chicken Salad Sandwiches lately, so I thought about making egg salad.

I feel like traditional egg salad can be kinda boring. So, I wanted to mix it up and add avocado as I love avocado with eggs, and also with toast. And so I thought his recipe for Avocado Egg Salad would be a great combination of both of those things, and it’s a lunch recipe.
This recipe for Avocado Egg Salad is so easy to make guys! Seriously, and it’s healthier than my Chicken Salad Sandwiches because I’m not using any mayo, and instead I’m using yogurt here. And the light and zesty flavor of the yogurt paired with the dill and chives is so good.
This recipe for Avocado Egg Salad can be eaten alone, or you can dip crackers in it for a snack or appetizer. You can also add it as a toast topping for a late breakfast or lunch. Or, you can even add it to a sandwich and serve with chips, fruit or whatever. This easy healthy recipe is so versatile! And, as we’re coming into spring and the weather is warming up, it’s nice to have a cold snack or lunch option too! Get the recipe for Avocado Egg Salad below.
Why go organic?
You may be wondering why I push organic ingredients for everything, even savory and healthy dishes. Organic ingredients go beyond just health and wellness, and contribute so much to the taste and flavor of a recipe. So, if you think that you’re making something healthy and buying fruits, veggies, or meats so maybe you don’t need to spend the extra to go organic here – let me sway your thinking.
Organic ingredients are made in a more pure way, therefore using no additives, no GMOs, and minimal ingredients. This really allows the true ingredients to shine – and because of that their flavor shines through. Therefore, organic ingredients are more flavorful than their non organic counterparts. So, just because it’s already a healthy recipe, or you’re already buying good for you ingredients – it doesn’t mean you can skip organic! Trust me here, and make the switch. Your body and your taste buds will thank you!
So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here. Tip – hover over each ingredient to see the name. And if you want to learn more about organic foods and the difference, read my post here on Food Labels and What They Mean.

This easy and healthy Avocado Egg Salad can be eaten alone, with crackers, on toast, or as a sandwich!
Ingredients
6 organic hard boiled eggs, peeled
2 organic avocados
1/4 cup organic plain yogurt
1 tablespoon organic dijon mustard
1 heaping tablespoon organic chopped chives
1 teaspoon organic dried dill
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large bowl, add the hard boiled eggs and avocados. Using a potato masher, mash the two together until the mixture has small bits and is uniform.
- Add in the yogurt, mustard, chives, and dill and stir with a spatula to combine completely.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve alone, with crackers, on toast, or lightly toast bread and add to a sandwich.
- If you are going to store this, be sure to store in an airtight container in the fridge, and even put plastic wrap tightly over it before the lid of the airtight container. Avocados brown very easily, so this will brown if stored for long, it’s best when eaten right away!
